Iftar has been the star of the show this past week, but I thought it’d be lovely to include reviews of other dining options for those who are not fasting and Prego’s is just perfect. Throughout the month of Ramadan, they’ll be serving an A la Carte lunch from 12:00 to 3:30pm and dinner from 6:00pm to 11:30pm. I had the pleasure of visiting just before the start of Ramadan. An old member of our gang Ibukun visited Dubai and it was a perfect opportunities for a girls reunion. We searched for a place with great ambience where we could share good food and just enjoy the company each other. Being the foodie it was my responsibility to find just the place. When I looked Prego’s up, I was completely drawn in by the mouthwatering Italian cuisine selection. So it was settled, four hungry girls put on their heels, fitted elastic waistband on their skirts and went to dinner. Here’s what they had to say;
Ronke, all round foodie
“The food was exquisite from the starters to the soup, main course and finally the gelato. I had three scoops. I was transported back to my time in Italy. Another great thing was the service, attentive staff and prompt service. The food was brought swiftly. Its an 8.5/10 in my book.”
Michi, resident alcoholic
“I particularly enjoyed the Burrata, the cheese was smooth and rich, garnished with tomatoes. I couldn’t stop going back for more, even after we had moved on to the main dish. I had it with a Mai tai, although it was unlikely paired with a cocktail the flavor was strong enough to hold its own. I thought I was going to be having prosecco all night but the sweet and slightly spicy Mai Tai won me over. It was the perfect mix of rum and sweet.”
Ibukun, food skeptic
“I just spent the last five days in Rome and I still remember what it feels like to eat Italian like the Italians intended it to be eaten. I prefer this version better. I didn’t try the pasta because I’m on a low carb diet but the salads were fresh and crisp. When next I’m back in Dubai I know where to have Italian.”
Well you’ve heard it from the girls. My favorite was the Salmon, which was crusted with sundried tomatoes and breadcrumbs. It was crispy on the outside, moist and perfectly cooked on the inside. Overall, it was a lovely experience. I definitely recommend Prego’s, if you’ve eaten there before or plan to in the near future do leave a comment below.
